# Gas

Gas is the transaction fee all web3 users must pay in order to perform activities on a blockchain.

**BitDrive** is built on BNB Smart Chain (BSC), a blockchain designed specifically for running smart-contract applications (Dapps). Unlike Ethereum, its transactions are both fast and low-cost.

Gas is used to allocate resources and the unit to measure it is gwei. On BNB Smart Chain, 1 gwei is 0.000000001 BNB. 

With an average gas price of around 6.5 gwei, sending 10 BNB should cost less than ten cents. However, this rate is subject to network conditions and market volatility.
